Final Project- Web Design Concept

For our final project we were asked to come up with a proposal about what we were planning to do our final project on.  I chose to the the web design concept.  I used the small company that my sister-in-law started called ImaGin Blooms as the content for the site.  This small personal business handmakes flower blooms for it's biggest market which is hair accesories like head bands and clip ins.  ImaGin Blooms also creates purses, rings and bridal wear including bouquets. I wanted to continue with my newly developed style by creating illustrated elements that captured the papery, layered look.  In doing so, the final result is below:

Literary Illustration

Original Sketch
Our second project was a literary illustration.  We had to select a passage either from a book or from the Bible and without plainly illustrating everything the words said, still convey an idea with a uniqe style.  I went off of the unique style of designer, BomboLand.  In their design they do alot of layering and drop shadowing to give a paper 3D look which I really liked.  I decided to give it a little shot.  I primarily used basic shapes, pen tool, drop shadows, and textures.

My Literary Passage: Isaiah 62:1-3
"For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow. You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God."

Photorealistic Product Illustration

This was our very first real project.  I took a staged photo of a Unilever product, in which I chose the Dove body wash.  I then recreated the product from scratch attempting to make it look like a more professional, yet still realistic rendition of the photograph.  I used the pen tool, gradient mesh tool, and the eyedropper tools.  I put in at least 30 hours+ on this project.
